A HUGE success to date these Summer holidays has been Inverloch Bowling Club’s Barefoot Bowls events – held each evening from December 27, and it’s not over yet!
Running to this Sunday (January 7) grab a few mates or family, and head down to the Bowls Club on The Esplanade from 5pm-8pm where volunteers like Terry and Graham will help guide beginners through the tricks of the game.
“We’ve had a fantastic turnout so far this summer,” Inverloch Bowls Club President Terry explained.
“On December 30 we had over 130 people try out the sport – have a few laughs and fun, and the weather wasn’t even in our favour.”
Bring out the inner Jack Simpson, enjoy some laughs and a couple of drinks as you enjoy the relaxed social game. Perfect for all skill levels, barefoot bowls combines a streak of competition with a laid-back vibe.
A casual and enjoyable lawn bowling activity participants can opt to go barefoot or keep flat soled shoes on as they send the ball down the rink with bowls provided by the club.
With improving weather on the cards for the remainder of the week, this writer definitely recommends popping down for a few games – having thoroughly enjoyed a night with family and friends on New Years Eve.
If travelling solo do not fret, the friendly volunteers will pair you up with another group or jump on a rink for a few matches.
$10 per person with eftpos available.
