A MAN was body boarding at Smiths Beach on Phillip Island when he signaled for assistance at about 9am Wednesday, April 26.
Members of the public noticed and subsequently pulled the man from the water but he had fallen unconscious by that time.
Unfortunately, the man he couldn’t be revived and died at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
