Dangerous rip warnings need improvement

YOUR article of warning of risks to unsuspecting visitors to our local beaches with warm weather is a timely reminder for all.

The Age recently reported that social media may lure people to our beautiful but dangerous beaches, possibly with hidden rips.

A coastal risk assessment of Bass Coast Shire was released in 2019 and land managers were to monitor and review the process.

Nature Parks will implement changes in seven weeks. 

Why five years to act? Many lives have been lost in the sea since.

What have coroners recommended to prevent further loss of lives?

We need answers soon.
