Further landslips temporarily close Silcocks Hill Road
The impacts of landslips on Silcocks Hill Road have forced council to close it briefly while a cleanup and repairs occur.

Silcocks Hill Road has been temporarily closed for maintenance.

The road was impacted by a landslip caused by torrential rain on Boxing Day.

Council’s Infrastructure Maintenance team worked hard and quickly to clear the slip and reopen the road on Boxing Day; however large quantities of mud were still present.

Additional land slips occurred this week, necessitating the road closure, which will allow the council team to clear culverts, clean mud away and undertake road maintenance.

The road is expected to be reopened for the weekend and Agnes Falls can still be accessed via Creamery Valley Road from the south, or Toora-Wonyip Road from the north.

“We thank people for their patience while we undertake these important works,” a council spokesperson said.
