WHAT a night, what a crowd!

It seems as if everyone, in and around Inverloch, has been hanging out for some good weather, after the longest winter and spring on record.

Because they came out in their droves on Saturday night, December 17, for the Carols in the Glade.

And it was absolutely superb (by comparison with what it’s been like anyway}.

The kids all had their Christmas hats on, and some of the parents too.

There were plenty of picnic rugs, deck chairs and a sneaky beer or two as the choirs, bands and guest carol singers got into their work.

The event is organised by the Wonthaggi-Inverloch Inter Church Council, so there was a message about the true meaning of Christmas, which for Christians is a pretty simple one:

The Christmas Story is the story of God sending his son from Heaven to Earth in the form of, initially, the baby Jesus Christ, born in humble surrounds, in Nazareth, nowadays, the capital and largest city in the North District of Israel.

Jesus, the son of God, was sent here to save the world by making the ultimate sacrifice, on the cross, to rid the world of sin.

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The lesson done, it was on with the carols and what a fantastic night it was.

Over the years, there’s been more drizzly nights than fine, clear ones for Inverloch’s carols and the 2022 event will go down as one of the best.

The carols continue at Wonthaggi on Sunday night and Cowes on Tuesday night.
