Korumburra takes South Gippsland Championship

THE South Gippsland Golf Association Championships were played at Korumburra Golf Club on Sunday (June 2). A cold but fine day greeted the golfers at Korumburra for the South Gippsland championships - after postponing the event from previous week due to extreme fog, all competitors where keen to get the event underway.

Geoff Cohen of the South Gippsland match committee said the course was in magnificent condition and greens were a good test of putting skills. “Thank you to Korumburra for the excellent presentation of the course.”

South Gippsland Champion and Champion of Champions: Steve Bromby (Korumburra) gross 72.

Runner up: Jye Kruyer. (Foster) 74

Minor champion. B grade: Ryan Williams (Foster) gross 75

Runner up:  Peter Rayson (Woorayl) gross 84

Junior championship: Billie Wrigley (Korumburra) gross 82

A grade nett winner: Billie Wrigley 76

B grade nett winner: Peter Rayson 72

C grade winner: Ian Gibson 32 points.
