SURFING Victoria is proud to announce the Victorian State Surfing Team Members for 2022 that will head to Port Macquarie next month for the Australian Surf Championships.
The prestigious event has not been run since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will bring together more than 500 surfers to the NSW Mid North Coast for the 17-day event starting August 5.
Phillip Island’s Harry de Roth will be flying the flag for not only Phillip Island but also Victoria in the Open Men Shortboard divisions in Port Macquarie.
“I’m frothing to get up there and represent Victoria,” de Roth said.
“I’m going to try and make it into a road trip and enjoy the coast along the way. I’ve never surfed in Port Macquarie and from the clips I’ve seen of Matt Banting over the years it looks very, very fun!”
Victoria will have surfers in 35 divisions across the 17 days in disciplines such as Shortboard, Longboard, Logger and Bodyboard.
