Meat still available in Leongatha
Kodie, Blayke and Rod Spokes of Leongatha Fresh Meat and Fish Supplies are delighted with the delivery of a generator from John Burke of South Gippsland Hire.

Leongatha Fresh Meat and Fish Supplies was able to continue feeding hungry locals thanks to the delivery of a large generator on Wednesday morning.

A small generator wouldn’t be up to the task, with the business requiring three-phase power.

“We were lucky enough to pick one up from S G Hire,” butcher shop owner Rod Spokes said.

“We can sell meat and cut stuff up for people; we’re not going to let them go hungry, he declared.

With the generator only able to power refrigeration, some tasks such as sausage making had to be put on hold.
