NYORA fought it out to narrow the margin to 61-points against Yarragon on Saturday.

Set to play one of its better games of the season, the embattled Nyora travelled to Yarragon with the aim of producing a competitive match against the ninth-placed Panthers.

Yarragon made effective use of its opportunities in front of goal, putting three goals on the scoreboard before quarter time.

Nyora was left scoreless, but the Panthers were still well within reach.

After quarter-time, Nyora rallied and delivered an impressive second quarter, keeping Yarragon to just three points whilst adding two goals of its own.

Nyora kicked five goals for the day, shared between Dylan Heylen, Jesse Heylen, Lucas Lee, William McGindle and Bradley O’Brien.

After winning the second quarter, Nyora went into half time with a spring in its step.

The momentum wasn’t lost heading into the third quarter, and Nyora added two more goals.

However, Yarragon was not to be outdone and managed to put up three goals, effectively doubling Nyora’s score heading into the final quarter.

Aiden Keady led the charge for Yarragon’s goal scoring effort, kicking four.

Yarragon put its foot on the pedal in the last quarter and left Nyora behind.

Nyora battled with another goal on the board, but Yarragon fired off seven to ensure a comfortable win.

Nyora’s best players were Jesse Heylen, Bradley O’Brien, Lachlan Roberts, Aaron Coggins, Luke Forscutt and Tyler Campbell.

Next week, Nyora will come up against eighth-placed Trafalgar.
