KILCUNDA-BASS revelled in its 94-point win over Garfield on Saturday.
Historically, Garfield has posed a threat to Kilcunda-Bass, and the Panthers were pleased to come away with a victory.
This week, Kilcunda-Bass hosted its Indigenous Round and Garfield was on board to show its support.
This is an initiative of the Kilcunda-Bass Football Netball Club that continues to grow each year.
The match was played out at the Bass Recreation Reserve in ideal conditions with no wind advantage.
The Panthers made a statement with a strong opening quarter, kicking five goals and leaving Garfield scoreless.
Kilcunda-Bass’ defensive pressure continued to work well, orchestrated by Joe West and Steven Scott.
The Panthers continued to overpower Garfield in the second quarter, adding four more goals to the scoreboard.
Young gun Jed Rosenow gave a solid performance after finding himself in the midfield.
Rosenow usually plays on the wing or up forward but was impressive in the midfield and was responsible for two great clearances in the second quarter.

This is Rosenow’s first year out of the U18s, and his becomes more and more of an asset in the Senior every week.
By halftime, Garfield remained scoreless while the Panthers were dangerous in the forward line.
Anthony Daraio was hitting his targets and kicked five for the day.
Travis Tuck also made the most of his opportunities and accumulated three goals.
However, Kilcunda-Bass was began to battle in the second half and had no bench from five minutes into the last quarter onwards.
The backline continued to restrict Garfield’s opportunities – keeping it to one goal per quarter – but the Panthers were forced to change their game by the final term.
Instead of challenging Garfield to chase, the Panthers reverted to a more straightforward game and worked to conserve energy to push them through to the end and a pleasing outcome.
Kilcunda-Bass will have a challenge on its hands this Saturday as it comes up against the formidable Nar Nar Goon.
Nar Nar Goon is coming off its first loss this weekend and Kilcunda-Bass is quietly confident it is in healthy enough shape to be a contender.
