Seven arrested
SOUTHERN Metro Regional Crime Team detectives have arrested seven youths in relation to a series of alleged aggravated burglaries over the past week.
Information gained by detectives lead them to a home in Bonbeach on December 7.
They located seven people inside the home who were subsequently arrested.
The youths are alleged to be linked to:
• multiple aggravated burglaries and theft of motor vehicles in Mount Martha, Frankston South, Sunshine West, Lysterfield and Dandenong.
A 17-year-old Cowes boy has been charged with seven counts of aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated burglary, five counts of theft of motor vehicle, three counts of theft, theft from motor vehicle, conduct endangering life and unlicensed driving.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
Burglary in Nyora
A MALE offender broke into a property on Friday, December 9 in Nyora between 8.30-9.30am before fleeing with stolen goods in a white Mercedes.

San Remo Hotel and IGA theft
ELEVEN offenders are on the run after breaking into San Remo Hotel and San Remo IGA in the early hours of Monday morning (December 12) and taking off with stolen goods.
Police continue to investigate the burglary at 3am and anyone with information including CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact Wonthaggi Police Station (5671 4100) or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Barbecue triggers fire
CFA was alerted to reports of a house fire on St Ellens Road, Berry’s Creek at 7.46pm on Friday, December 9. Nine CFA vehicles responded, along with VicPol.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a house well involved, with visible smoke and flames.
Crews worked to extinguish the blaze and were able to prevent the fire spreading beyond the roof cavity and deck.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by a gas barbecue which was being used around 6pm with a small fat fire extinguished by the individuals at the time. The fat fire then reignited sometime later when the individuals were out.
Reckless behaviour not tolerated
POLICE are investigating an incident on November 24 just after 8.34pm along Surf Beach whereby two vehicles have pulled up behind and in front of a speed camera vehicle (SCV).
Upon pulling up behind the SCV, the first driver has proceeded to activate their hazard lights and open their bonnet. A second vehicle has pulled up in front of the SCV and proceeded to put on their hazard lights before going to chat with the first driver.
The parties were filmed by the SCV’s cameras whereby it appears the individuals have chatted with the bonnet up before closing the bonnet, turning off the hazard lights and leaving.
The parties have been identified and are awaiting interviews by police.
Cigarette fire in Inverloch
CARELESS disposal of a cigarette in Inverloch has triggered a bin fire in a laneway behind businesses on Saturday, December 10 at 8.30pm.
It is understood the cigarette was carelessly disposed of and bounced off a fence into a bin filled with cardboard, which a short time later caught on fire.
With the entire contents of the bin burnt, smokers are urged to ensure their cigarette is completely out before disposing of it appropriately.
Alcohol swiped at BWS
A BOTTLE of Jim Beam Black was stolen from BWS over the weekend with the suspect a Caucasian female aged between 30 and 40 years old.

Vehicle damage in Wonthaggi
A VEHICLE’s windscreen was damaged on Elizabeth Street in Wonthaggi on December 8 between 2pm and 6.30pm.
A 10cm round bone was found near the vehicle.

Scooter stolen at Ocean Sounds
A BLACK scooter with grey handles was stolen at Ocean Sounds (Churchill Island) between 8.30pm and event close (10pm) on Saturday, December 10.
The scooter was one of two appropriately secured with the owners returning to find one scooter missing and the lock cut in half.
A white bike helmet was also stolen from nearby.
