Stolen from carport

AT APPROXIMATELY 1:10am on Friday June 30, a man was preparing to take his son to the bus in Wonthaggi as he was catching a flight out of Melbourne later that day.

The car was packed with his son’s suitcases and was parked in the carport with the engine running, to warm it up.

The man went inside to get his son who was saying farewell to other family members.

While they were inside for a few minutes, an unknown offender stole the vehicle out of the carport and drove away.

The stolen vehicle was later located in Traralgon.

Letterbox crash

IN A single vehicle collision on Commercial Road in Yarram, a 39-year-old male driver crashed into a large brick letterbox.

The incident occurred at about 11:30pm on Saturday July 1.

The driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police are investigating the incident.

Local green thumb caught red handed

A 38-YEAR-OLD male has been charged with stealing items including numerous pot plants from Mitre 10 in Yarram.

The value of the items stolen exceeded $2000. The man was due to appear in Korumburra Magistrates Court last week.
