CELEBRATIONS erupted as Tarwin achieved Grand Final success, toppling Yinnar by 32 points in Morwell East on Saturday.

Dale Lawton led the way for the Sharks under glorious but energy-sapping sunshine, being Best on Ground and finishing with a goal.

Hayden Browne was the multiple goal scorer for the winning team, slotting three majors.

Tarwin set up a strong position by the long break, leading by four goals and having allowed Yinnar just one maximum score to that point.

The Magpies applied pressure in the third term, booting a couple of goals and keeping Tarwin scoreless to trail by just 10 points heading into the final term.

The Sharks ensured Yinnar didn’t trouble the score board operator for the remainder of proceedings, while finishing with three majors of their own.

Tarwin coach Jake Cochrane credited the tenacious opposition offered by Yinnar, saying the Magpies are a well-coached outfit for which he has “heaps of respect”.

He then delivered a raucous message to his team.

“Job’s done!”

That sparked resounding cheers that only grew louder as the Sharks took hold of a well-earned premiership cup.

Premiership player Nick Tucker soon after posed proudly in the rooms with his delighted kids who appeared spellbound by the new trophy, something players are sure to celebrate for days to come.

Daniel Webster was best for Yinnar, with the beaten team’s three goals all singles.
