The inaugural Bena Hall Art Show, opening this Friday evening and running until Sunday, will showcase local artists working across a diverse range of mediums, with attendees able to purchase pieces that take their fancy.

The creations of Andrew Kasper will be featured with the Anderson-based artist specialising in corten and stainless steel sculpture, the former giving a rusty appearance.

Glassworks by Marlene Abela, who shares a showroom and workshop with Andrew, will be on display.

Loch’s Lucy Hersey has a number of paintings in the show.

“Her work uses earth pigments, so she draws her colours from nature,” Bena Hall committee secretary and co-organiser of the art show Steve McTaggart said.

Korumburra’s Bruce Plant, who also has an exhibition in Melbourne this week, is another of the artists whose works will be on show in Bena.

He has been crucial to the four co-organisers of the Bena Hall Art Show, drawing on his local arts contacts.

Colleen Herbert of Leongatha adopts a dinky-di Aussie approach to her art.

“Colleen does a lot of outdoor work on corrugated iron, often painting wildlife,” Steve said.

Korumburra’s Tracy Lewis, whose works are inspired by the varied and everchanging landscapes of Gippsland, will add to the mix of artistic styles.

Bena’s Lynn Keating creates lithographs and lino-cut prints.

Entry is $15 for the Bena Hall Art Show’s opening night celebration on Friday November 3, which runs from 7pm until 9.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased through trybooking.com or at the door.

The show continues on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 3pm and admission is by gold coin donation.
