THE club is busy readying itself for its 2023 congress event whereby bridge players around Victoria and interstate converge to compete in pairs and teams of four.

Around 80 contestants are expected to compete on November 11 and 12 at the Dakers Centre, Leongatha.

Results:
October 10 at RSL Wonthaggi: five tables.

It was great to see new partnerships topping the tables.

Congratulations to Ruth Harvey and Chris Hall in first place with 61.11 per cent and who subsequently have been chosen to attend an afternoon of bridge at Victoria’s Government house to compete against other representatives from bridge clubs throughout Victoria; a great treat.

Second was Faye Rowlands and Clive Hope on 56.02 whilst third went to Penny Loughran and Ruth Stevenson on 53.7.

October 13 at Inverloch Fishing Club: seven tables.

In week one of the Spring Pairs event, leading in N/S pairs are Deb Anglim and John French with 67.26 followed by Alan Johnston and Clive Hope with 63.39, and John Sutton and John Currier in third position with 54.76.

The club continues to run most relaxed and enjoyable weekly Thursday morning teaching and supervised play sessions at the Wonthaggi Workmen’s Club starting at 9.30am.

Contact Alan Johnston via the club’s website if interested in attending.
