Newhaven Jetty Public Meeting

DEAR Ratepayer and supporters of Phillip Island/Millow,

Unfortunately, due to work commitments I cannot be here to join you and add my personal voice to this campaign. I was very happy to second Councillor Halstead’s urgent motion at the last Council meeting to get the ball rolling.

This is a critical piece of infrastructure for our Island. It is the first feature you see as you cross the bridge.

First impressions are important. If we and the government want to showcase the Island as the jewel in the crown for Victoria, then having an inviting vista is important.

Coming over the bridge currently gives the impression that the island is dilapidated. Not to mention blocking off this important place to residents. It is where they used to enjoy a stroll, a fish or merely watch the vista. 

To the owners of Saltwater, I say my heart goes out to you at this time. I do hope this situation is rectified soon.
