SATURDAY’S game was a hard wet slog.

The boys battled hard all day.

For the most part of the day there was barely a goal in it.

Little lapses at crucial moments of the game saw Trafalgar make the most of some easy opportunities.

“Our boys fought hard for all our goals all day and the lapses in concentration opened the door for Trafalgar to make us pay,” coach Dylan Heylen said.

“It came down to the last quarter push to close in on Trafalgar however, we couldn’t convert.

“We definitely had the flow of play but couldn’t get scores on the board.

“It was not what we set out to achieve in the day, however, our young group led from the front standing up when it got tough and played right until the last siren.

“On a day where it was easy to roll over and give up, our boys showed fight and the want to win.

“A win is not far off. We can feel it.”

It came down to the last quarter push to close in on Trafalgar, however, they couldn’t convert.

The Saints definitely had the flow of play but couldn’t get scores on the board.

They played it tough right up until the last siren and showed they’re still in the fight.
