NYORA had its closest tussle yet against the Trafalgar Bloods on Saturday.

Playing at Nyora, the Saints kept the Bloods on their toes through to halftime, by the away side managed to get away with a 31-point win in the end.

The first quarter was an even contest with both sides making the most of their opportunities in front of goal.

Trafalgar managed to remain on the front foot, leading by a goal at quarter time.

Nyora stepped it up in the second quarter, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Nyora kicked three more goals to Trafalgar’s two, winning the quarter and narrowing the margin to just one point.

The goal scoring efforts were led by Dylan Heylen and Callum McNiff, with two goals each.

Overall, four goalkickers contributed to the final score.

Things took a turn for Nyora in the third quarter.

Trafalgar gathered some momentum during the halftime break and came in ready for a fight.

The Bloods put three goals on the scoreboard, and the defense tightened to hold Nyora to just one.

Trafalgar’s fitness won out as it dominated the final quarter.

Nyora was left scoreless as Trafalgar piled on another three goals for a clear victory.

Nyora’s best players on the day included Lucas Lee, Trent Wheller, Aaron Coggins, Bradley O’Brien, William McGrindle and McNiff.

Nyora will travel to Longwarry to take on the Crows this Saturday.

Longwarry is sitting fifth on the ladder and will be another challenge for Nyora.
