Voting closes soon in Bass Coast and South Gippsland
As well as numbering every square on the voting card with your preferences, don't forget to complete the back of the voting envelope with your signature, date you posted the envelop and your date of birth.

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is reminding voters in the Bass Coast and South Gippsland shires that they have until 6pm on Friday, October 25 to vote in the local council election.

And they need to be sure to number every box on the voting card, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9… in order of their preferences and also to complete the outer flap on the voting envelope with their signature, date they filled out the form, and their date of birth.

“You need to post your completed ballot pack before 6 pm on Friday 25 October, noting local clearance times may vary,’ Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel said.

“You can also drop your ballot pack off at the election office located at the Old Post Office, 74 McBride Avenue, Wonthaggi (for Bass Coast voters) and the election office located at 6-12 Smith Street, Leongatha (for South Gippsland voters) before 6pm on Friday 25 October.”

Any voter who still hasn’t received their ballot pack by Tuesday, October 15 should go to vec.vic.gov.au to complete an online replacement ballot pack form.

Extended hours for voters to hand deliver their completed ballot pack apply from 9am to 8pm on Thursday, October 24 and 9am to 6pm on Friday, October 25.

Voting is compulsory for all voters who were on the state or council roll for this election at 4pm on Wednesday, August 7. Enrolled voters who don’t vote may be fined $99.
