IT’S going to be a big Easter at Inverloch, all the more so with a climate change rally planned for the town on Saturday, April 16.

Members of the Monash Climate Change Coalition, including Richard Kentwell, Bev Cowan, Michael Nugent, Irene Beasley and Lyn Atkinson, were out for their usual Friday morning gig in Wonthaggi last week, waving banners at drivers near the McKenzie Street/Graham Street intersection.

They plan to be there every Friday in the lead up to the election, likely to be on Saturday, May 21.

And it’s not hard to work out who they’ll be targeting. One of their placards has the following message, a recyclable sign no less with blackboard paint and chalk writing: “Russell our MP: anti-climate action, anti-vax”.

There’ll be more of the same when they rally in Inverloch, between 11am-12pm on April 16, including a march around the town, music, information about climate action and more.

Their favoured candidate, Mat Morgan, Greens federal candidate for Monash, is likely to be front and centre.

Representative of the organisers, Michael Nugent, says: “Everyone is welcome.”
