Success at athletics carnival
ON WEDNESDAY, March 23, St Joseph’s Korumburra students in grades 3 to 6 braved the rain and grey sky to participate in the interschool athletics carnival at Leongatha Velodrome.
ON WEDNESDAY, March 23, St Joseph’s Korumburra students in grades 3 to 6 braved the rain and grey sky to participate in the interschool athletics carnival at Leongatha Velodrome.
Students participated in a number of track and field events throughout the day.
Junior age champions for St Joseph’s included Joe Tripodi and Zara Nobile; and senior age champions were Liam Egan, with a combined win by Lily Lovell and Georgia Scarce.
Cody Amor also received the prestigious ‘Bert Pickersgill’ medal for his 1600m win.
In a successful day, 20 students from the 50 participants at St Joseph’s will proceed onto the district athletics in the first week of term 2.
It was an amazing day and a great effort by all staff, students and volunteers.
