INVERLOCH KONGWAK blooded two more debutants in Campbell Scott and Callan O’Flynn and welcomed Kilcunda-Bass down the road.
The hosts burst out of the blocks and were able to find their spearhead Tristan Van Driel, who drew first blood early.
The Panthers lifted the pressure gauge for the rest of the quarter, quelling IK’s run until O’Flynn got a chance at his first goal in senior footy.
He kicked truly sending his mates behind the goals into a frenzy and lifting his teammates as they swamped him.
Feeling energised, Oscar Toussaint was able to break out of the centre and Van Driel slotted his second, finding a third soon after thanks to a superb follow up from Campbell Scott.
In the absence of Marcus Toussaint, the debutant looked right at home handling the ruck duties, making an impact around the ground with his skill and speed.
Taylor Gibson was able to fire home a major in reply for the visitors, and Marcus Baxter’s clever smother and snap from the pocket cut the lead to 12 at quarter time.
Nathan Foote was excellent through the midfield for Kilcunda-Bass, setting up another Baxter goal, trimming the lead to 15.
Following a brief stalemate, Jarvis Pryor bit off a magnificent inboard kick leading to Ethan Park’s first.
This play appeared to open the hosts run and carry, as Corey Casey bagged his first and Joe Soumilas converted from deep.
The Sea Eagles took a 34-point lead into the main break, the Panthers were up for the fight.
The third term began with a strong surge from the visitors as Shem Hawking and the IK defence repelled.
The young Sea Eagles began to put their mark on the game and spark their older teammates as Park finished beautifully for his second, and the first of the third.
Another goal to Van Driel pushed the lead out to 59, but it was the visitors who claimed the next major through Baxter who kicked his third.
But it was all IK to finish the term as Oscar Toussaint and Casey started to wreak havoc through the midfield.
Lachlan Scott and Clark ended the quarter with majors to their names, the Sea Eagle lead was 66 at the final break.
The final term started with more trademark IK run and carry from defence, but strong counterattack from Kilcunda-Bass.
The ball pinballed for much of the quarter, until Johnson went back bravely inside 50 and converted his second on the day.
Clark was able to add his fifth as the siren sounded on a triumphant 92-point win for IK, they’ll look to repeat the dose next week in Garfield.
A brave effort from Kilcunda-Bass, they will host Bunyip next weekend.
