A very special thank you

I TAKE this opportunity to thank the community of Bass Coast. It’s been a wonderful and fulfilling time in my life to be able to represent my community and to be your Councillor and your Mayor.

It’s been incredibly rewarding to be a part of the many special projects and events that make our communities amazing places.

You are the remarkable people that make up our communities and that make Bass Coast a special place to live and work and play. You are the ones that truly need to be thanked because you are the ‘volunteer army’ that supports our communities. I thank you all whole-heartedly.

We have had many durations of Mayors and Councillors over my 12 years in Council and I thank you all as well, for your stewardship, guidance and support.

To the outgoing Council, we know that it can feel frustrating at times to be a Councillor. I believe we have created a better Bass Coast during our term. I feel blessed that I’ve had this experience, to meet and work with so many amazing Councillors who have been very dedicated to their communities. It’s extremely difficult to keep everyone happy and to those Council Watch people, I look forward to when you put up your hand and stand for Council, as it takes more courage to take action, than just words of criticism. 

Thank you to all the current Councillors for stepping in when I needed you. I thank you for your support. It’s not always easy having different points of view, but it’s how you deal with things in a professional manner that makes the difference.

I wish the new team of Councillors all the very best in building a vibrant and bright future for Bass Coast.
