AN 18ft boat that is believed to have been travelling from Sydney to Apollo Bay has run aground at the Anderson Inlet entrance overnight.
Passersby raised the alarm at 6am this morning with two passengers (a 63-year-old and a 30-year-old) removed from the vessel by Inverloch Surf Lifesaving Club and transported to Inverloch Jetty by Inverloch SES. The two passengers were assessed by paramedics on shore and are uninjured and in good spirits.
A minor injury was had to one of the surf lifesaving volunteers when their hand became caught in a rope.
It's understood the boat left a Gippsland port yesterday and anchored overnight.
Water Police and Parks will access the boat for damage.
Local police would like to thank the community for raising the alarm.
