Tayla Tatterson takes a strong contested mark.

PERFECT conditions at Seaford set the scene for a great contest between the two top teams to see who would progress straight through to the Grand Final.

The Breakers came out firing with Immy Bradford and Tayla Stahl finding space in the forward 50 and creating plenty of scoring opportunities.

While up the other end Hannah Mills was finding all the right spots to stop Mornington’s attack and Tess Wingfield was clearing the ball with accuracy.

With two goals to Immy and one to Tayla the Breakers went into the first break leading the game.

Mornington lifted their intensity in the second and both teams utilised the short ground to move the ball quickly into their forward line.

However, despite each team adding four scoring shots each to their tally Mornington scored the solitary goal for the quarter.

An early goal to Mornington gave them some momentum and they dominated the quarter piling on 4 goals, and taking the lead for the first time in the match.
In the last quarter the Breakers defensive pressure lifted all over the ground.

And while they were able to stop Mornington scoring, the Breakers weren’t able to convert their opportunities and couldn’t claw back the lead.

The Breakers have another chance and will return to Seaford to face Frankston in the Preliminary Final Sunday 27, at 2pm.

Final score Mornington 5.7-37 def Breakers 3.11-29

Goals: I.Bradford 2, T.Stahl

Best: S.Bolding, S.Lane, K.O’Neill, I.Bradford,  T.Wingfield, H.Mills
