THIS week the ‘Christmas in July’ themed celebration marked the 200th parkrun. There were 10 volunteers for the parkrun who supported 34 people to complete the event.
Donna completed her impressive 200th parkrun and Daniel his 100th parkrun.
There were 17 first timers and a number of tourists from the Hunter Valley, Inverloch and Melbourne. Two people outdid themselves and got a personal best in the misty, cool conditions.
Afterwards, the parkrun hosts and regular participants put on a coffee and egg and bacon roll morning tea. A generous, supportive and lovely bunch at parkrun.
Thanks to Julia who was the run director and ensured the event was smooth sailing, which is easy work when there is a team of eager to assist volunteers; Julia Groves, Brenton Hall, Jen Jackson-Hall, Alan McKenzie, Robert Nelson, Carmel Quirk, Steve Quirk, Marissa Shields, Val Smith, and Rongshang Zhang.
