Korumburra’s Darren Scott plays a brilliant shot down the ground in his innings of 67 on Saturday.

KORUMBURRA hosted Koonwarra L/RSL at Korumburra Recreation Reserve. The hosts won the toss and batted first.
Losing just the three wickets for the innings, the hosts top order fired as Jacob Wrigley (57* from 87) and Darren Scott (67 from 67) each made half centuries, helping the Cobras finish 3/193 after their 35 overs.
Spencer Chadwick (1/32 from 7) tried hard with the ball for Koony.

In a mixed bag of an innings in reply, only three batters reached double figures, as Adam Thorne (49 from 58) fell one run short of a half century and Brodie Cary (61 from 34) passed that mark.
Shaun McKinnnon (4/34 from 6) showed out with the ball as the Cobras took all ten wickets to see the Cougars fall 24-runs shy of the total.
Koony will now host Nyora this weekend, while Korumburra will have the bye.

The other matches were not played due to forfeits.

Undermanned Kilcunda Bass falls just short against OMK

BATTING first, visitor OMK set host Kilcunda Bass the task of making 118 for victory, something the Sharks almost achieved despite being a couple of batsmen short.
OMK opener Andrew Shinkfield proved crucial with his game-high knock of 49 giving his bowlers something to defend.

Ryan Fort was the next highest scorer for the winning side, making 18 runs, with most of the Kilcunda Bass bowlers performing strongly.
While Hunter and Cruz Bettles picked up a couple of wickets each, as did Ashley Joseph, Pat DeRubeis was particularly stingy conceding just nine runs off his seven overs and taking a wicket.

DeRubeis then top scored for the Sharks with an innings of 32, but three teammates had already succumbed prior to his dismissal.
He fell with the score on 68.

A run-a-ball 24 from Mathew Whitby nearly set up a Kilcunda Bass win, but OMK stuck at its task impressively to prevent that outcome.
David O’Neill grabbed 4/24 off his five overs including the wicket of the dangerous DeRubeis.

Ben Maguire (2/15) was the other multiple wicket taker for triumphant OMK.
Although ultimately successful, the Diggers were a little generous in the extras department sending down 10 wides compared to just one from the Kilcunda Bass attack.
