THE joy of Christmas filled the room when families gathered at the San Remo Pre-School last Friday evening for their end of year celebration; an evening organised by a committee of volunteers with the generosity of the local community.
President of the kindergarten Nikole Charlton acknowledged the spirit of community when the kinder hosted over 80 families: thanking the kind volunteers for holding a sausage sizzle, and the San Remo Butcher and San Remo IGA for their generous support.
The kindergarten is independently funded and parent run, and strongly rely on fundraising to create a fun and educational environment for their growing number of children, to develop their skills and learn from play.
As the term gradually draws to a close the kindergarten committee and teaching staff volunteered their time in bringing families together for Christmas, sharing that the San Remo Pre-School couldn't successfully operate without the generosity of the community and their tireless support for early childhood education.
The committee received generous donations for the Christmas raffle that was drawn at the close of the evening, with over $1,300 in prizes won.
Sincere thanks to Tennis Australia, Jim’s Bait & Tackle, COR Pilates, Mello, Phillip Island Winery, Lina Collection Consultant Sue Cohen, Bunnings Wonthaggi, Lash House, and Fig & the Bay.
The kindergarten committee will be holding a sausage sizzle at Bunnings Wonthaggi on December 10 from 9am until 4pm – their last fundraiser of the year, so head on down to support the community kinder this Christmas.
