Cultural venues a hit

CONGRATULATIONS to Bass Coast Shire Councillors, executive and staff for your stroke of sheer genius and determination in establishing Bass Coast Cultural Venues in Wonthaggi and our new Cultural Centre, Berninneit in Cowes.

We ratepayers are often quick to voice our opinions and criticise our local government for their perceived mistakes. However, we also need to applaud their vision and tenacity when they get it brilliantly right, as Bass Coast Shire certainly have with this cultural initiative.

I’ve now had the pleasure of attending a number of live performances at both venues, culminating in Kate Ceberano’s evening concert at Berninneit last Saturday evening.

Great performers, great planning, great staff, great acoustics and beautiful accommodation at two central and local Bass Coast locations – well done Bass Coast Shire!
