Many local residents have been nearly run off these roads into deep ditches, alongside the steep slopes of the hill, especially up the narrow winding hill where trucks tend to barrel along excessively fast taking up majority of the long narrow road.
These roads were not designed or built for constant heavy vehicle usage and need to stick to the Bass Highway intended for them.
Night and day, echoing, monstrous noises along with smelly fumes roar from excessively loud trucks, waking local residents that has to stop!
Heavy trucks constantly slam their engine brakes to cut the corner, where the small country t-intersection is, which creates a very dangerous situation.
Hoons tear up these roads of Woolamai Hamlet, treating them like the Grand Prix racing track, revving their engines and zooming ever so fast past our homes night and day.
A local resident’s ginger cat has recently fallen victim to being hit and killed by one of the extremely fast vehicles where one of the two rail trail crossings are.
We appreciate Deputy Mayor Cr Halstead for stepping up and trying to take action on this matter. Let’s hope action is taken seriously and prevent major accidents before they happen here.
