Disappointing performance for the Sharks

ON THE surface at least Tarwin hadn’t seemed to be bringing the same sort of game they had done in the year prior, when the Sharks were clearly the benchmark of the home and away competition.

Back on their home deck and after an indifferent start to the season, this clash had quickly become their most important of 2023, but you wouldn’t have thought it, given the Sharks most disappointing performance.
 

“A very pleasing win yesterday, with our injury list growing by the week to have even contributors across the ground was great to see. Tarwin is a very strong opposition and always hard to beat at Shark park.”

“Expecting Boolarra to come out firing next week. Always a tight contest so will be a high pressure game,” Jarrod Walker, Fish Creek coach said. 

The Kangaroos have been quietly but effectively going about their business and are now only a win or two from bobbing their head up around the very top couple on the MGFNL ladder.

“We had some passages of play that looks like us and then momentum changes and we can’t get it back,” Troy Hemming, Tarwin coach said.

“We are learning a lot with this group this year so the only thing we do is move onto next week against Mirboo North. We are still very positive that when we get our plan to click it will challenge teams for four quarters.”

Although on paper there appears plenty of time in which to make a move, the evenness of the competition will make any substantial climb up the ladder near impossible if the run is left too late.
