THE sun was out and the ground was dry setting the scene for a good contest.

Seaford were fast out of the blocks scoring within the first 30 seconds.

However, the Breakers were quick to take over the attacking… peppering the goals before Kate Thompson finally got the visitors first goal on the board with a nice snap from the pocket.

The Breakers kept up the work rate in the second quarter and a mark in the goal square gave Grace (Stretch) Matser her first goal.

Seaford responded with a goal before Stretch again found the scoreboard with a banana from the pocket.

Immy Bradford found Tayla Stahl straight in front for an easy goal after a great tackle and holding the ball call and the Breakers were starting to get on top.

Siena Lane was rewarded for her attack on the footy with a free kick and goal giving the Breakers their fourth for the quarter and a handy leading going into the main Break.

Half time: Breakers 5.5-35 to Seaford 2.1-13

Seaford came out with a quick goal, but the Breakers responded well with Ella Cargill finding some space in front of goal and finishing truely.

Great forward pressure from the Breakers kept the ball in their forward line with a holding the ball call giving Tayla Stahl the opportunity to add her second for the match.

The fourth quarter got off to a great start for the Breakers with Chelsea Connell streaming through the middle and kicking a long goal.

The opportunities slowed down after that with Seaford having some more of the play. However, Kelly O’Neill continued to get in the right spot to mark and cut off their advances with Jac Van Rooy winning the one-on-ones any time it did sneak through.

Overall, a great team effort from the Breakers who take on the ladder leaders Mornington next week.

Final Score: Breakers 8.12-60 def Seaford 4.3-27

Goals: G.Matser 2, K.Thompson, T.Stahl, T.Tatterson, C.Connell, E.Cargill, S.Lane

Best: K.O’Neill, C.Connell, S.Bolding, K.Thompson, S.McCracken-Evans, J.Van Rooy

The Breakers travel to Mornington for the last game of the home and away season playing Saturday at 2pm.

With the two sides set to face each other in the first week of finals, it’s sure to be a good contest.
