That’s right we had members of the public inside our lodge room to witness the installation ceremony of our new Master Don Roy.

This colourful ceremony was conducted by the acting Grand Master of Victorian Freemasons accompanied by his team of Grand Officers.

Family members and invited guests were first entertained by a very interesting talk on the history of Wonthaggi by the historical society whilst we were preparing for the entry of our guests and then the spectacle got underway.

On completion of this hour and a half ceremony, we repaired to the Workmens Club for a gala dinner.

Ceremonial aspects of being a freemason are very important to us but it only plays a small part of being a freemason.

We support charitable organisations and our community in general and we aim to be the very best we can possibly be as individuals and as fellow Freemasons.

We aim to make good men better.

Naturally we are open to enquiries from potential members who are genuinely interested in our ancient and honorable order.

Contact can be made with our lodge Secretary, Mr David Kent on 0418 384 768 or myself as the Lodge Engagement Officer on 0403 218 830.

Ken Barnes, Wonthaggi
