WE LIVE in Deep Creek Street opposite the sand mine. Last year the state government approved the expansion of the mine, allowing the equivalent of eight MCG‘s of Westernport Woodlands to be cleared. Has the start of this additional clearing been the cause of four wombats, two wallabies and a huge kangaroo being killed on the highway in front of the mine. A young wombat and wallaby actually killed in front of the mine gates or is it just a
coincidence.
