Inspire the little explorers this long weekend
Dinosaur discoveries in Inverloch this Labor Day long weekend.

EXPLORE Inverloch this Labor Day weekend with a range of activities organised by South Gippsland Conservation Society and Bunurong Coast Education.

Join an expert palaeontologist and be excited and inspired by the past. They can tell you of local dinosaur discoveries and the Dinosaur Dreaming dig! These activities are offered over three different sites with one focussing on Koolasuchus cleelandi, Victoria’s fossil emblem.

Then continue and join a guided night walk to Screw Creek to look for signs of wildlife and find out what creatures are active in the bush after the sun goes down.

Over the weekend a rockpool ramble will keep children amazed as they explore the shores and discover Inverloch’s spectacular rock pool life. Sea stars, crabs, marine snails, colourful seaweeds, and sponges are among the rock platform diversity to be seen with an expert guide.

Families are also welcome to join the making art from nature program where children will use a selection of found objects, natural and otherwise, to create works of art in a range of forms to take home. Best suited to children aged 5 – 13 and those with a creative streak.

For more information on activities running this Labor Day long weekend and over the Easter break visit http://www.sgcs.org.au/programs bookings are essential.
