Una Curtin enjoyed ideal conditions for her 100th Parkrun milestone at the weekend.

IT WAS noticeable that dozens of keen Inverloch runners were either pacing themselves or standing out as volunteers and observers when the Saturday morning Parkrun stepped off on a balmy March 18 day at the weekend.

Quite a few of them were already entered in the The Run Bass Coast event on Sunday, March 19 featuring distances of 2km, 5, 10, 21.1 and the big kahuna, the marathon distance of 42.2 Km around the coast between Inverloch and Cape Paterson.

But if regular first-male finisher Bill Barry was keeping something in reserve for a shot at the $1000 prize money on offer in Sunday’s 10km event, he wasn’t giving anything away as he strode confidently to the line in Saturday’s Parkrun.

First woman to finish and fifth overall was Kongwak’s Emily Carrick, enjoying the delightful, autumn conditions around the controversial Inverloch shared pathway.

Celebrating with the group of 100 plus runners was 100th event runner, Una Curtin, who with COVID intervening, actually completed her 50th Parkrun, back on October 20, 2019, with 178 Saturdays rushing by in the meantime.

Inverloch Parkrun is open to all comers, starting at 8am sharp each Saturday. Simply download your Parkrun barcode at https://www.parkrun.com.au/ and you’re away.
