INVERLOCH’s Janet Kolotelo was one of six lucky Victorian Racing Club (VRC) members to be selected to have a race named after her at Flemington on Saturday, which was Members Day and the last race meeting of the 2023/24 season.
Janet, who is a nurse educator at Leongatha Hospital, was invited to watch the race in the VRC Chairmans Suite along with her husband George Misson, the couple pampered with Champagne and finger food, then escorted down to the Winners Lounge where Janet presented the trophy to the winning owner.
The opportunity to have a race named in their honour is one of the ways the VRC shows appreciation for its 34,500 members.
