WITH recent Autumn rain over the last couple of weeks we are no longer experiencing puffs of dust coating our shoes that we have been so accustomed to.
Saturday was event #224 acknowledged by RD Steve Fuery, that the event number fell on April 22, (22/4) and some wishful thinking on Steve’s behalf that it would be 22 degrees at 4am this morning instead we had a full set of grey clouds, no sunshine but at least it wasn’t cold for 101 participants at Koonwarra parkrun.
As RD, Steve mentioned there are a few gaps in the upcoming Volunteer roster. Thank you to those who have put their names down this weekend. Please don’t hesitate to Volunteer in the 12 weekly roles available. Training is provided and you will feel that warm fuzzy feeling from volunteering, similar to running or walking the course. There are a number of roles that can be performed and you still get to run or walk eg: course check, first timers’ briefing, run report, park walker and tail walker. If the major roles are not filled eg: run director, timekeeper, finish tokens and barcode scanner, parkrun will be cancelled.
Unfortunately, sometimes things do not go smoothly, there was a technical glitch in the recording system this week and not everyone’s times have been recorded.
If you have came up as an “unknown” and you know your placing please message Koonwarra Parkrun and we will have that fixed for you.
Congratulations to tourist, Aaron Fiddes on entering the 25 milestone club.
We had 11 First Timers including tourists: Aaron Fiddes, Max Murrihy, Matilda Mulley, Chia-Ching Chang, Melissa Diggerman, Michael Anderson, Abby Walker, Linus Chang, Siew Chang, Lola Bright and Erin Bright.
Congratulations to all and hope to see you again.
Congratulations to the 9 who recorded PBs: Di Mostert 24:37, Elizabeth Joseph 25:21, Jethro Walliker 26:56, Josiah Walliker 27:08, Samantha Tan 28:24, Esther Walliker 31:38, Rosie Mulley 32:21, Michonne Van Rees 36:30 and Asher Walliker 49:09.
Lastly Thank you to our wonderful volunteers this week: Tracey Anderson, Jason Browne, Colleen Clark, Maryan Foote, Kelly Fuery, Steve Fuery, Peter Hosking, Helen Lughetto, Joy Miles, Sarah Peachey, Christine Winning and Christopher Winning.
