FOLLOWING torrential rain in August 2022, which led to a landslip on Kernot-Krowera Road causing considerable damage, the section of road still remains closed.
According to the shire, the landslip was ‘significant’ with ongoing movement.
Water filled barriers have been placed at either end of the landslip, which stops through traffic preventing potential damage to vehicles and ensuring motorist safety.
Council is currently undertaking engineering and design work required to rectify the landslip.
Once the design work have been completed, rehabilitation works will commence subject to funding and contractor availability.
Due to the severity of the landslip and risk associated with the public, there are no viable temporary solution options to keep the road open.
