Leongatha, Koonwarra residents urged to cut water use
Leongatha and Koonwarra residents have been urged to reduce their water usage after the main water main went out of service on Saturday afternoon.

SOUTH Gippsland Water has notified, at 3.42pm on Saturday, August 27, that there has been a supply interruption to the water main supplying Leongatha Water Treatment Plant, which services the towns of Leongatha and Koonwarra.

South Gippsland Water crews are on site working to repair the break as quickly as possible.

To ensure continuation of supply, the authority has asked customers to please immediately reduce non-essential water use.

“Until further advised, please avoid use of washing machines, dishwashers, watering gardens, hosing paths or houses, filling pools etc,” said South Gippsland Water.
