A LEONGATHA man can finally embrace his new millionaire status after scoring $1 million in Monday night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw – which came two years after he missed winning division one by one number.
The Gippsland resident held one of the two division one winning entries drawn Monday, March 6.
“There’s a million thoughts going through my mind!” the winning man cheered when an official from The Lott confirmed his newfound fortune this morning.
“I’m a bit stunned, a bit breathless.
“I looked up the results last night, and I was left speechless.
“I called my wife immediately to let her know about the win, and she didn’t believe it – she thought it was a scam!
“I didn’t have much sleep last night. You always dream about winning division one when you buy a Lotto ticket, but never expect it to happen to you!
“About two years ago, I missed out on $1 million in Monday & Wednesday Lotto because I had five winning numbers and a supplementary number. I needed one more number to win division one.
“I won $473,000, which was wonderful, but $1 million is next level!
“I never expected to actually win division one last night.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his $1 million windfall, the Victorian man shared it would boost his retirement plans.
“We’re going to take a step back and decide how we’re going to allocate the money, but we would love to relocate so we can have a better retirement,” he said.
“It would be great to put our feet up and celebrate!”
His winning 18-game QuickPick was purchased at Nextra Leongatha Newsagency, 30 Bair Street, Leongatha.
The Nextra Leongatha Newsagency team couldn’t be happier to have sold a division one winning entry and wish their local winner all the best with his prize.
