EVER since living in Inverloch and even around the other towns, I have always attended the Council run fireworks. It is a special event for families and coming from India it always brings back memories for me of celebrations.
I was surprised to read that a child was injured as this is a family event. Being so parents and those with children in their custody need to also take the responsibility that these events have their risks and children should not be in areas around this, so they are not compromised.
Safety is not only the responsibility of the organisers, but every individual attending needs to be accountable too. I actually saw people bringing their pets to the fireworks, which does not show much intelligence. Pets are always scared for loud noises and it shows how little people know about that.
I sincerely hope the child recovers and it is a shame that that had to happen. I hope that does not stop the event from happening because it brings a lot of joy to the town as it one of the most anticipated events as the crowds that were they indicated.
