A MAN tried desperately to avoid arrest from police by running and jumping over neighbouring fences in Inverloch this morning.
Bass Coast CIU attended an address in Inverloch at about 8:25am to execute a search warrant for stolen property and arrest the 31-year-old male.
Upon police arriving at the address, the male fled into neighbouring properties in an attempt to escape police and avoid arrest.
Police cordoned off the area, and with the assistance of Police Airwing, were able to locate the male in a neighbouring property.
The male again attempted to evade police by running away but was located and arrested a short time later in Edgar Street.
The man will be interviewed by police and face court later today.
