LEONGATHA Business Association (LBA) has launched its new website created by local web designer Sam Embuldeniya who runs IT Solutions Gippsland, one of LBA’s member businesses, with the organisation keen to boost its membership and engagement.

Visit lba.org.au to learn what LBA offers for Leongatha businesses and community organisations.

The website is the spot to go if wanting to join LBA.

Business Membership is just $99 for a year, providing an array of benefits.

Those benefits include free ‘Essentials Membership’ with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which provides access to an extensive range of business support tools and services in areas such as health and safety, human resources, workplace relations, policy and advocacy.

LBA member businesses become part of the Association’s buy local campaign ‘Love Local, Love Leongatha’.

LBA arranges special promotions and events throughout the year to encourage local spending.

Members of the Association have the opportunity to join the ‘Closed Loop Gift Card Program’, which helps keep spending in the local community supporting Leongatha businesses.

Furthermore, LBA membership provides free listing on the Association’s website and social media exposure.

This includes a link to your website or Facebook page and exposure through LBA’s social media platforms for your business promotions.

Sam has set his sights on boosting LBA’s social media presence.

Those wishing to join LBA can do so online through the website or can download a membership form and submit payment in person.

South Gippsland Shire Council CEO Kerryn Ellis spoke of the value business associations provide.

“Business associations play an important role in fostering business education and community cohesiveness,” she said.

“Council’s Business Development Officer is currently
working with the Leongatha Business Association to help boost their members and re-establish their digital assets and we look forward to hearing their progress.”

Principal Mortgage Broker Marty Reidy, still a relatively new member of LBA through business Yellow Brick Road (YBR), which opened in Leongatha last year, has thrown himself into an active role with LBA.

He is enjoying helping it build up post-COVID, seeing the value the organisation offers local business operators and the broader community.

While YBR only became a member of LBA late last year, Marty is already keen to take on a committee position at the Association’s upcoming AGM.

“It’s been a good little challenge,” he said of the part he has played so far with LBA, finding the variety enjoyable.

“We’ll be putting together a program to get much greater engagement with local businesses,” Marty said, adding that while nothing is yet confirmed, ideas include running events with keynote speakers.

He said drawing on the knowledge of experienced business operators in town to offer advice to other business operators is another likely focus.

“The existing members are passionate about Leongatha and looking for better outcomes and opportunities for the businesses,” Marty said, noting that passion extends to ensuring benefits for the broader community.

He is excited about the rejuvenation of LBA’s website and upcoming improvements to its social media presence and looks forward to welcoming more members to the organisation.

“You can make a difference with this Association,” he said.

LBA encourages its existing members and those interested in joining to attend its AGM on Monday, August 28.

The meeting takes place at Leongatha RSL, commencing at 6pm.

Those interested in seeking LBA committee roles can fill out the online nomination form through the new website.
