KORUMBURRA City Soccer Club has a new committee for the 2024 season.
New President, Tony Gardner thanked three outgoing stalwarts of the club, Rory Cull, Jodie Olden and Peter Jacques for their many years of service. All three were awarded life membership.
The committee are focused on fun, rebuilding the social elements of the club, that took a hit through COVID, and providing a great environment to play soccer.
With the new lights recently installed at the Richard Street reserve, the club will be looking to host at least one Friday night fixture next year.
The Club are also working hard with the Cricket club and Shire to secure funding for new cricket nets with an all-purpose facility to play five-a-side and other all-weather community use on the old netball courts, and to build an equipment shed.
On the Pitch, the club is currently recruiting to get the Senior Women’s team back up and running.
The Senior men are looking to avenge their narrow loss in the semifinal this year and get to the big dance in 2024.
In Juniors, members say farewell to club champions, Addison Greig and Taolin McNeil. Both have been accepted into NPL club Gippsland United in the metro league.
While it is sad to lose them, the club are very excited for these two incredibly talented players, and wish them well on the journey. Addison and Taolin played in the u14s Final against Phillip Island.
Miniroos programs for the little ones, Juniors, Seniors, Indoor, five-a-side, and social kick arounds are all on offer. ‘Burra is a community club and welcomes players of all ages and abilities.
Equal opportunity for girls and boys, there are strong numbers of girls playing in junior mixed sides, and the league is looking to build on the Matilda’s success by growing girls’ participation and developing standalone girls’ competitions.
The club is currently looking for coaches. Expressions of interest close on Friday December 15 and all enquiries are welcome. Contact korumburracitysc.secretary@outlook.com or on Facebook and kcsc.teamapp.com.
