WHAT is undeniable from the Referendum result is that the inner cities voted differently from remote rural communities.
Traditionally this has resulted in people from the bush saying that the cities don’t get the country.
But it is also important to realise that city people live very different lives which people in the bush need to consider.
Our cities are much more multicultural than our country areas and the imperative to negotiate differences in cultures is much more real.
Our tendency to dismiss people from the cities as latte sipping socialists should be reconsidered.
