Member of the Coronet Bay ratepayers and residents’ association Angela Christa has hosted community planting days on her 15-acre property as part of the Bass Coast Landcare bio links project.

THE Coronet Bay residents and ratepayers’ association and Bass Coast Shire Council are inviting volunteers to join in on restoring the foreshore for a tree planting day this Sunday, July 31 in Coronet Bay.

Assisting landowners to take part in revegetation provides habitat for local fauna, helps restore local landscape and improves water quality. Linda Nicholls and Angela Christa said all the tools and equipment will be provided if volunteers can bring along their own pair of gloves, sturdy shoes, water and snacks for an afternoon of planting.

“With the increase in development in the area over the past three to four years and the foreshore being so narrow, the wildlife is fighting for space, we need to work together and provide a healthy landscape for native animals,” said Angela.

Site organiser David Martin invites the community to meet at the Coronet Bay foreshore carpark for works to be completed at 23 Kowloon Crescent, Coronet Bay from 10am until 12pm.
