THE Wonthaggi Swap Meet and Show ‘N Shine managed by Wonthaggi Power Football Netball Club is being held on Australia Day weekend - Sunday, January 22.
The event will be hosted at the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve and is expected to see close to 250 classic and vintage cars and motorcycles on display.
The annual show welcomes local vendors to showcase and sell their bric-a-brac, spare parts, and memorabilia to the car enthusiasts in the community – displaying anything from vintage motorcycles to authentic collectables.

Event organiser Kris Baker said the gates will open at 6am for swap meet stall holders to get set up, and they will then direct all the classic cars and bikes through before opening the show to the public at 8am.
“All show ‘n shine classics are welcome without pre-registering; cars and drivers for judging are $15 entry, $10 entry without judging and passengers and pedestrians are $5 per person,” said Kris.
“The judges will be evaluating all classics and late model bikes and cars on display with judging cut off at 9:30pm sharp.”

The categories for the 2023 event include:
• Presidents Choice (Best overall)
• Best Aussie Original
• Best Aussie Muscle
• Best Tuff Street
• Best Hot Rod
• Best Vintage – Pre 1950
• Best Bike
• Best Paint
• Best Interior
• Best Engine Bay

The Shannons’ Super Rig, ‘ultimate big truck’, will be a highlight attraction this year with Shannons sponsoring the event alongside Tyrepower, Wonthaggi Motorcycles, Greg’s Panels, Matthews Transport, Autopro and Finance Consulting and Accounting.

The show is open to all classic cars and bikes - anything from veteran to modern day.
A pre-show event will kick off on Saturday, January 21 with an evening car cruise from 4:15pm, with drivers meeting at the netball court car park on Korumburra Road, Wonthaggi.
For more information or to pre-register for the event call Kris Baker on 0400 899 991.
