WONTHAGGI Power continued its classy run home with a commanding win over Traralgon on home soil on Saturday.
Wet conditions left the ground heavy underfoot, however this had very little impact on Power’s ability to put in four quarters of footy and deliver a dominating performance.
Ball movements were not as free flowing in the first half and – although not recognised on the scoreboard – Power and Traralgon were looking square.
Power lit up the scoreboard with four goal in first quarter, keeping Traralgon to just one.
However, the second quarter gave Traralgon a new lease on life.
The visitors ramped up the defensive pressure and added four more goals to their account.
Having outscored Power, the second quarter would prove to be Traralgon’s finest.
However, the half time break gave Power the opportunity to reset, resulting in a six goal third quarter that left Traralgon shellshocked.
With composure and control, Power began to play the game on its own terms.
Jack Blair dominated on the half back flank, leading the charge to keep up strong defensive pressure and controlling his space.

Kyle Reid also played a composed game in the back half, keeping his opponents under control.
Traralgon was unable to convert any of its opportunities and its score was unchanged at the three-quarter time siren.
Coming into the fourth quarter, Power stuck to its game style and worked hard to finish the job to come away with a 64-point victory.
The powerhouse of the day was Tom Davey, who contributed a handy six goal haul.
Back from injury, Tom Murray was also a standout player in the midfield.
Toma Huther played another consistent game in the ruck and onballer Mitch Hayes played with great composure.
With one game left in the home and away season, Power is looking to bring home one more victory to consolidate the top spot.
Power will be travelling to Morwell, which has always proven to be a tricky side.
Although Wonthaggi defeated Morwell at home during its last meeting earlier in the season, the team will not be taking the challenge lightly.
Wonthaggi will need to secure the win, or the minor premiership will come down to how Moe fares in its home game against Drouin.
