Friday evening, August 19: The Inverloch-Venus Bay Road, the main road into Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay is finally open.

RESIDENTS of Venus Bay, Tarwin Lower and other areas who have been cut off by the flooding of the Tarwin River and surrounding farmland are finally able to get through..

On Friday morning, August 19, the main road into Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay, the Inverloch-Venus Bay Road, was still closed on both sides of the main bridge into Tarwin Lower but by late afternoon cars were getting through and the road is now officially open to traffic.

There had been reports of people driving through the floodwaters but lhe road remained closed until the water cleared away and the condition of the road could be assessed for damage and washout areas.
